The Real Housewives of Dallas premiered Monday night at 9/10 C on the Bravo network and needless to say it didn’t disappoint. This is the seventh installment of the Housewives franchise and it's only right that they save the best for last. The Dallas cast is comprised of your typical clichéd southern belles, who took center stage outfitted in their sequin formals, sassy taglines, unoriginal catch phrases and plenty of Texas sized drama to boot.
Brandi Redmond
We’re first introduced to Brandi, the fiery red head who was formerly a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys. Now married with children her life has taken on a more subdued mode but with her husband gone most of the time it's apparent that she's waiting for the opportunity to turn up. For now she’s confined to her mcmansion, taking care of her adorable ginger haired children till her hubby can see his way clear of work and or the golf course.

LeeAnne Locken
When meeting housewife number two, it’s clear that LeeAnne is the queen bee of the group. A self-proclaimed “carnee kid”, which means she grew up on the carnival scene thus suggesting (according to her) she knows what struggling is all about and has the, because I made it there, I can make it anywhere attitude. It seems the hard knock life is the reason for all of LeeAnne's selfless charities i.e. parties with a purpose events, all because she struggled as a child and hates to see anyone else go through what she went through. Although none of her charity work so far seems to involve any minorities or poor people problems. Just long and unpronounceable diseases that come to think of it, I can’t name any one person I know who's ever had them.

Stephanie Hollman
The next cast member comes as a twofer, it’s evident from the barrage of silly banter and school girl giggles that Stephanie and Brandi are BFFs and above all delight in each other’s company. Stephanie is also married with kids and like Brandi is a normal housewife, who just so happens to live in an opulent golfing community. Here we learn that wealthy housewives have husbands who think it appropriate for them to do chores around the house while they go to work to support them. Now there’s a brilliant concept, or is that type of thinking cruel and unusual punishment in the land of the rich and somewhat famous? Okay, not so much famous, but you get my drift. Seemingly bored with their lonely, routine and predictable lives as housewives, it’s evident that these two spark plugs are going to be the Thelma and Louise of this glitzy group.

Cary Deuber
Cary, the high spirited CNA who’s happily married for the third time, is going to definitely be the comic relief we all need to usher us through this inaugural season of RHOD. Witty and unapologetic for her life’s choices, I’m sure her storylines will be riddled with lots of interesting and shocking secrets/twists.

Tiffany Hendra
Next we meet Tiffany, who along with her husband have recently moved back to Dallas from Los Angeles. Cary claims to have out grown the harsh life of a model/actress in Hollywood, which left her longing for the tranquility of the peaceful south. Oddly, her rocker husband bears a striking resemblance to country singer and Nicole Kidman’s other half, Keith Urban. Unfortunately, he is not but he does in fact have a beautiful singing voice and a knack for playing expensive Texas guitars. Should we expect another album to come from another housewife/househusband on this seventh installment of the franchise?

Maria Reyes
Honorable mention goes to friend of the cast, Maria Reyes, who I’m guessing is not quite superficial enough for Bravo, which is probably why she’s not brandishing the lone star in the opening credits. I’m sure if she puts her mind to it she can conjure up enough crazy to join the lineup next season.

I almost wanted to be salty about the fact that people always seem to look over Houston when it comes to shining a spotlight on Texas but in this case, I think the drama is best kept in D-Town. Be sure to catch The Real Housewives of Dallas, Monday nights at 9/10 C on Bravo.
