Famed Houston rapper, Paul Wall has undergone a major transformation within the past six years. His bout with high blood pressure resulted in him having to take drastic measures to rid himself of the excess weight. In 2010, Wall went under the knife to have the gastric bypass sleeve performed in order to drop the weight and get his health issues under control. Now in 2016, he is fit and a lot healthier having lost an amazing 130 pounds. In an effort to continue on this healthy track him along with his family have committed themselves to eating better foods and staying physically active.
Earlier this year the Houston Chronicle featured the Grammy award winning rap artist in an article all about their efforts to maintain the weight loss and get healthy. They caught up with the Wall family at Stude Park in the Heights walking the track. Wall, who’s been married to Crystal (35) for 11 years have two children together, son Will (9) and daughter, Noelle (8). Crystal’s niece, Chaslon Braggs who she recently adopted after the passing of her sister to Sickle Cell lives with the family as well. Like her famous husband, Mrs. Wall has loss an impressive amount of weight herself. Reportedly, she has lost 70 pounds with diet and exercise and hopes to drop even more with the gym that she and Paul own called MixFitz. The fitness program offers meal plans, exercise classes and group sessions to motivate the patrons. Last year, she took her MixFitz program to our neighboring city of Dallas as well as Los Angeles to branch out and expand her business to different markets.
According to an interview with the ‘Slab God’ he is not the only rapper to embark upon a healthier lifestyle, fellow music artists such as Rick Ross, Slim Thug, Mike Jones and Fat Joe have all began to drop the pounds. When asked how he felt since his dramatic weight loss he stated that it, “literally saved my life.” It would appear that Paul Wall’s new slender frame is a mainstay and that losing weight gained him more time here on this earth. I’m sure his multitude of fans are happy to see less of “The People’s Champ" and hear more of his music. What do you think about Paul Wall’s new slim physique? Leave your comments below.
